A woman's arrest Tuesday ends the mystery surrounding a 15-year-old cold case murder in Marietta.

Angel Renee Harris agreed to an interview with detectives Monday about the death of Anthony Roberts. She admitted to shooting the 43-year-old man but said it was an accident.

Police tested and identified fingerprints found at the scene as those of Harris, according to Marietta police.

Roberts' body was found inside the Ridge Pointe Apartments Aug. 3, 2001, after neighbors complained of a smell coming from the unit, according to news reports at the time.

His body, eight days decomposed, had a gunshot wound to the side of his head.

Harris' arrest warrant said that the apartment had been broken into.

In the Tuesday interview, Harris said at first that she didn't know who Roberts was.

Then she changed her story and told detectives that the shooting was an accident because she'd taken out the gun's clip, thinking it wasn't loaded.

She is being held without bond.
