According to KRMG, a man committed and reported a crime in the same day.

The incidents happened on Wednesday, and 29-year-old Jose Landeros is now in jail.

Landeros was accused of robbing a man at gunpoint at an Oklahoma apartment complex. He was able to get away with the victim's phone, but the victim was able to get a partial license plate off Landeros' Tahoe.

Tulsa police say Landeros then called the Pryor Police Department claiming somebody had shot his Tahoe, but his story raised red flags. Pryor PD called Tulsa PD to see if there were any incidents involving a Tahoe, and the plate matched the robbery.

Officers were able to track Landeros down, and they recovered the victim's phone.

The shots fired case had nothing to do with the robbery victim, KRMG reports. Police say that by reporting the shots fired crime, Landeros essentially got himself caught for the robbery.
