A Jonesboro man accused of stabbing a woman in front of children was arrested Monday, police said.

Mendez Shuntae Hunter, 36, is suspected of stabbing Matika T. Jackson several times with a knife on Sunday, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

The incident happened at an apartment on Covington Highway in Decatur, Cynthia Williams, a spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office, said.
