Man charged with sexual battery after allegedly grabbing woman at Buckhead plaza

Alyssa Ozer said a man grabbed her hips from behind when she was buckling her 11-month-old daughter into her stroller.

A man faces a sexual battery charge after being accused of grabbing a woman’s hips while she was putting her baby in a stroller, police said.

Michael Turner, a homeless man, remains in the Fulton County Jail on a $4,000 bond after the alleged Oct. 8 incident at the Peachtree Battle Shopping Center in Buckhead, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Alyssa Ozer, the mother Turner allegedly grabbed, told Channel 2 she was loading her 11-month-old daughter into a stroller outside the Carter’s children’s store in the plaza.

“A man came up behind me, grabbed my hips and rammed himself into me,” Ozer said. “It was scary.”

She posted about the incident in a Facebook group, which included her yelling at Turner and going into the store and asking an employee to call security, who arrested him on Peachtree Street, the news station reported.

Ozer said she hopes Turner is able to get the help he needs.

“I just hope that he learns his lesson ... because clearly that’s not something that a healthy person would do,” she said.
