A Maine man who allegedly was married to three women, including one in Georgia, was arrested in Ohio.

Officials said Michael Middleton, 43, missed a court appearance Thursday in New Hampshire, where he was charged with bigamy in January, according to The Associated Press. He is accused of being married to women in New Hampshire, Georgia and Alabama.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in Ohio tweeted Friday that deputies “tracked down” and arrested him. Officials referred to Middleton as the “Cupid of Chaos” and said he was awaiting extradition in the county jail.

Middleton was charged with marrying Alicia Grant of Exeter, N.H., while already being married to Katherine Lashley of Georgia and Kassandra Shipley of Alabama, the New Hampshire Union Leader reported. Grant told WTMW, a news station in Portland Spring, Maine, that the three women found out about each other and filed a report with police. Prosecutors said they found three valid marriage certificates for Middleton.

Prosecutors allege that Middleton was attempting to scam the women so he could take as many assets as possible before leaving, the news station reported.
