A man is in the hospital after he intentionally drove his car into the Hall County jail Thursday morning, sheriff’s deputies said.

Just before 8 a.m., Jason Wynn Turner III, 32, of Lula, drove a Nissan Maxima into a jail wall, sheriff’s spokesman Stephen Wilbanks said.

Turner is charged with interference with government property, criminal damage, reckless conduct and wearing a mask to conceal identity.

Deputies at the jail responded immediately to the incident and took Turner into custody, Wilbanks said.

Turner’s legs were hurt, and he was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment, Wilbanks said. There were no other injuries.

The Georgia State Patrol and the Hall County Sheriff’s Office are investigating. The case will be updated after Turner is released from the hospital, Wilbanks said.
