July 24, 2019

A UPS driver was shot while delivering packages in South Fulton on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Officers responded to the 3500 block of Umatilla Lane about 4 p.m., said Sgt. Jubal Rogers, spokesman for South Fulton police. There, they discovered the 26-year-old driver had been shot on their route.

The driver, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital. Police said the driver is stable, but the extent of their injuries is unknown. It’s also unclear why they were shot.

“We do not have a shooter identified or in custody at this time,” Rogers said, adding that officers are canvassing the neighborhood in search of witnesses or surveillance cameras that may have captured the shooting.
