JUST IN: 1 shot at Douglas County motel
Police are gathering evidence at a Douglas County motel after a person was shot on a second-floor balcony Tuesday morning.
Douglas County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Jesse Hambrick confirmed to AJC.com that one victim was taken to a hospital following the shooting at the Efficiency Lodge off Fairburn Road. Detectives believe several people were involved.
“Details are very limited at this time,” Hambrick said. No further information about the incident or the investigation was released.
Officers placed several evidence markers in the parking lot. A motel room on the second floor stood open and was blocked with crime scene tape while investigators were on the scene.
