JUST IN: Driver on run after trying to run over cop, downing power line in South Fulton

A suspect is on the run after allegedly trying to run over an officer before leading police on a chase in South Fulton on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The chase ended at Guilford Lane and Flat Shoals Road, South Fulton police Lt. Derrick Rogers said.

The driver was stopped for an “investigatory reason” before trying to hit the officer, Rogers said.
The suspect knocked over a power pole at the intersection before running away, Channel 2 Action News reported. More than 1,000 people are without power as a result, according to Georgia Power.

No one was injured in the chase. An investigation is ongoing.
