Two juveniles are in police custody after allegedly riding up to a Georgia Tech student on electric scooters and later forcing him to withdraw cash from an ATM.

Georgia Tech police announced in a tweet Tuesday that an arrest warrant was secured for a juvenile suspect who faces charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, aggravated assault and financial transaction card fraud.

The arrests stem from an incident that happened Thursday at North Avenue and Techwood Drive.

According to Tech police, the student was approached by two men, who appeared to be between 15 and 20 years old, about 5:30 a.m., AJC.com previously reported.

The robbers reportedly said they had a gun but never produced one. The duo allegedly took the victim’s cellphone and marched him to a BP station at the corner of North Avenue and Spring Street, where he was forced to withdraw an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspects from the BP in an effort to identify them.

The second juvenile was previously arrested and faces the same charges. When we was taken into custody, police found a pellet gun in his possession, authorities said. Georgia Tech police said that suspect was also involved in a similar armed robbery at Georgia State University an hour earlier.

It’s not clear how or when authorities found them.
