Gwinnett County police are searching for two men they say robbed and stabbed a jogger carrying $700 as he exercised in a park Tuesday morning.
The jogger was exercising on a trail at Graves Park in unincorporated Norcross about 7 a.m. when two men blocked his path, pulled knives and said, “Give me everything you got” in Spanish, according to a Gwinnett police incident report.
The man complied with the request, but not before getting stabbed twice in the leg, the report said. He told police the men got his debit card, driver’s license and $700 in cash.
The jogger then chased the men to the Regal Vista apartment complex in DeKalb County, where he saw them get into a black car and drive away, authorities said.
The man was then taken to a hospital for his injuries.
He said his attackers both had thin builds and described one of them as having short curly hair and the other as having long curly hair.
Another park-goer told detectives they witnessed the robbery and then saw the jogger chase the men into some woods behind the dog park, according to the report.
Anyone who recognizes the suspects or knows their whereabouts is asked to call detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting the Crime Stoppers website.
