An hours-long SWAT standoff at a northeast Georgia home came to an end Tuesday afternoon after authorities shocked a man with a Taser, according to Channel 2 Action News.

The man had been in an attic along Mahaffey Street in Jefferson since just after 6 a.m., police said.

Authorities said they tried to arrest the man, who had several felony warrants, but he retreated to the attic and refused to come out.

Police called in Hall County SWAT officers, who tried to remove the man using tear gas, but that didn’t work.

Negotiators remained at the scene until just after noon, when they took the man into custody, Channel 2 reported. His name and the charges against him have not been released.
