A South Fulton business owner thinks College Park police were chasing suspects when the suspects crashed into his office building.

Attorney Moore Ibekwe told Channel 2 Action News he’s frustrated with the way the situation was handled. He rents the building next to his Old National Highway law office to a hair salon.

“I’m smart enough to know that people don’t just take off and plunge into a house and then get arrested,” Ibekwe said.

He said he wasn’t notified the crash had occurred, and said his building was left unsecured overnight with a gaping hole in the wall.

The College Park police chief, who declined to speak to Channel 2 on camera, said his officers were not chasing suspects. He said the suspects were attempting to elude officers who spotted them breaking into cars. Two suspects have been caught, but a third is still on the run. Police said the suspects are responsible for multiple crimes in metro Atlanta.

The owner of the salon, Donta English, is frustrated, too. His wife called to tell him about the hole when she arrived in the morning, nearly five hours after the incident occurred. English told Channel 2 he’s grateful his family was not in the building at the time.
