A music producer who has worked with rappers like Chief Keef, Gucci Mane and Rae Sremmurd was arrested last week in Gwinnett County after being accused of violating his probation, authorities said.
Tyree Pittman, who is better known as Young Chop, was arrested last Thursday by Gwinnett deputies on two counts of probation violation, according to the county’s solicitor general. It was his third arrest since February and his second this month.
His earliest arrest was Feb. 26 on an aggravated animal cruelty charge after a dog was starved to death in December, according to Gwinnett court records. No other information on that pending felony charge was immediately available.
The 26-year-old producer is originally from Chicago but now lives in Peachtree Corners, according to his booking report. A string of recent arguments with other rappers, namely 21 Savage, led to his most recent legal troubles.

On April 6, Pittman took an Uber to the Quick Mart at 3221 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive before telling the driver to take him to a nearby apartment complex, according to a Gwinnett police incident report obtained by AJC.com. The apartment complex, which the Uber driver did not know the name of, appears to be the Allen Hills apartments where rap star 21 Savage reportedly used to live, according to multiple media reports.
The two were in a social media feud and he had been searching for 21 Savage, according to an Instagram Live video that Pittman posted that night.
While at the complex, Pittman briefly got out of the Uber and got into an argument with another man, the report said. During that argument, Pittman brandished a gun, the Uber driver told police.
After Pittman got back into the car, the driver began to take him home. However, the Uber vehicle was shot at as they left, the driver said. It was hit at least four times, but no one was injured.
The shooters sped off after the incident, with Pittman telling the Uber driver to chase after them, the report said. The Uber driver refused and instead drove him home.
Pittman told the driver to not call police, offering to pay for the damages to the car, the report said.
While police were investigating, a detective received an email that contained a video of Pittman firing a gun in his neighborhood two nights before, according to the report. The video was obtained by World Star Hip Hop, where it has amassed more than 400,000 views.
Solicitor General Brian Whiteside told AJC.com that his office also received complaints from Pittman’s neighbors about hearing gunfire.
“His next-door neighbor is 77 years old, and he thinks he’s heard gunshots on several occasions,” Whiteside said. “Four other women called with concerns, too, which led to our office researching (Pittman’s) activity.”
The video led to Pittman being arrested April 7 on a reckless conduct charge along with three driving citations, according to another incident report. He told the arresting officers that he fired a warning shot because some vehicles were trying to come up his driveway, the report said.
He bonded out of jail but was arrested again last Thursday on the probation violation charges. The solicitor general’s office did not provide further information on those charges. Pittman was booked into jail and then released.
