If you’ve got unwanted or expired prescription pills, Saturday is the day to drop them off at many local police agencies.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe and convenient way to dispose of prescription drugs. In the previous nine Take-Back events nationwide from 2010 to 2014, 4,823,251 pounds, or 2,411 tons, of drugs were collected, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Atlanta, East Point, DeKalb County, Fulton County and Clayton County police departments are among the agencies accepting drugs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., along with the Gwinnett County and Rockdale County sheriff’s offices.
