A Norcross man was arrested Saturday and charged in the hit-and-run death of a bicyclist in Sandy Springs, police said.
The fatal wreck occurred just before 6 p.m. Friday along Glenridge Drive, just north of I-285, said Sandy Springs police spokesman Sgt. Sal Ortega.
According to police, 57-year-old Felix Mayer of Dunwoody was riding his bike north when he was struck from behind by a white pickup truck. Mayer died of his injuries, authorities said.

The driver of the truck, who was reportedly on his cellphone at the time of fatal crash, fled the scene instead of stopping, Ortega said.
On Saturday morning, Sandy Springs police identified the driver as 42-year-old Leonardo Angulo Banos. He was arrested after officers spotted him near Hope and Roswell roads, and his truck was collected as evidence, authorities said.
Angulo Banos is charged with distracted driving, first-degree vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run, reckless driving and failure to maintain lane, jail records show. Additional charges are possible pending the outcome of the investigation, Ortega said.
Angulo Banos remains held without bond at the Fulton County Jail.
