When asked to comment on the early morning shooting at a FedEx facility of six people by a gunman who then killed himself, Gov. Nathan Deal had this to say of the incident in Kennesaw.
“It’s certainly a tragedy any time you have deaths of that nature. It’s one of those things that we hate to have happen in our state,” Deal said at a bill signing ceremony today. The bill would put a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. on the statehouse grounds.
Deal refused to comment on whether he saw a link tying today's shootings with the gun bill he signed last week as some civil rights leaders at the bill signing ceremony today, suggested.
“I want to focus on the piece of legislation that we sign today and that’s why I was here for that purpose. What has become law in other signings, I don’t think has relevance to this event,” Deal said.
