Georgia man drives truck into river, charged with DUI

June 4, 2016A man in St. Marys, Ga., is facing a DUI charge after he drove his pickup truck off a boat ramp and into a local river, according to a media report.
The driver, 52-year-old Charles Edward Fields Jr., was still inside the truck when officers responded, the Florida Times-Union reported. Fields told officers that he was going home, became confused. and didn’t realize he had turned onto the boat ramp, the report said.
Fields was taken to the St. Marys Police Department, where a test allegedly showed his blood-alcohol content to be well above the legal limit, the report said.
