The remains of a newborn have been found in the White Plains area of Greene County.
They were found at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday on Chester Road, Greene County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lee Stancill said in a statement.
“Investigators are currently conducting interviews and are attempting to locate anyone who might have information concerning this incident,” Stancill said.
Volunteers and law enforcement are searching the area where the remains were found.
Stancill said the sheriff’s office could not comment on the discovery of the remains. The GBI is assisting with the investigation.
