A Forsyth County man was arrested Thursday, one week after causing a head-on crash that killed a 42-year-old Gainesville woman, authorities said.

Mitchell Brown, 30, of Cumming, faces one count each of homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of an undivided street and not wearing a seat belt, jail records show.

Keith Bridge Road was shut down between Cantrell Circle and Leland Drive while deputies investigated a head-on crash.

The Jan. 23 crash occurred on Keith Bridge Road when Brown drove his white Jeep Compass into the oncoming lane, crashing into a 2005 Scion driven by Candi Tucker, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said.

Tucker was pronounced dead at the scene. Both Brown and a 26-year-old woman riding in Tucker’s car were taken to the hospital with injuries, deputies said.

Brown remains held at the Forsyth County Jail without bond, records show, and authorities said he could face additional charges in the case.
