A former sheriff’s captain was indicted on accusations he touched women’s breasts and genitals without their consent.

Nearly a year after David Wayne Gibson was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing women at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, a grand jury indicted him on sexual assault and battery charges.

Gibson is also accused of tasering a woman while she was in a headlock.

The acts occurred between 2012 and 2014, according to the indictment, which came down Sept. 15. Gibson allegedly harassed one victim on multiple occasions, including touching her genitals with a foreign object and grabbing her breasts.

A second woman was also touched on her genitals, according to the indictment, and another woman was slapped in the head with an open hand.

On one occasion, Gibson allegedly exposed himself to a co-worker on the job.

In a case unrelated to the sexual accusations, Gibson is said to have tasered a woman while he placed her in a headlock, the documents allege.

Spalding District Attorney Scott Ballard requested that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation look into the allegations after his office received an internal affairs report, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Gibson also faces public indecency and violation of oath charges.
