Kenneth Oglesby had lived near the Chevron gas station on Roosevelt Highway in College Park for years.

On Oct. 6, 2016, The 44-year-old father was gunned downed while he was getting gas and a bite to eat. He was headed to his niece's funeral in Ohio before he was killed.

A jury convicted Brian Duffy, 27, on Tuesday of a slew of charges, including murder, aggravated assault and attempted armed robbery, The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office said. He was on probation for an armed robbery at the time of the fatal shooting, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. Surveillance footage captured the deadly shooting.

Duffy, wearing a “Scream” mask, drove up to Oglesby’s pump, aimed a gun at him and attempted to rob the man, Fulton District Attorney spokesman Chris Hopper said in a statement. As Oglesby dropped his cellphone and backed up with his arms in the air, Duffy fired a shot to his neck.

Duffy got back into his car and left the scene. Six hours later, a Fulton County police detective spotted him on Buffington Road in College Park. Duffy was arrested after he crashed during a chase.

He will be sentenced at a later date.

Olgesby, who was the oldest of six children, leaves behind a 7-year-old son.
