Marietta police are trying to find the robber who roughed up an elderly woman during a weekend home invasion.
The incident happened early Sunday at the 82-year-old victim’s home on Hazel Street off Whitlock Avenue.
According to Marietta police Officer David Baldwin, the suspect forced entry into the home and assaulted the woman.
“The suspect made verbal threats to physically harm the homeowner if she did not cooperate,” Baldwin said in an e-mail.
Baldwin said the robber took cash and jewelry from the woman.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was treated for non-life threatening injuries at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and released, Baldwin said.
Investigators have not released a description of the suspect.
