A 77-year-old man survived a knife attack in William Lee Park in Clayton County and now police are asking for help to find his assailant.

The elderly man, whose name was not released, is recovering at an area hospital from his non-life-threatening injuries, a single stab wound to his stomach.

According to the Forest Park police, the suspect ran away when a good Samaritan driving to work Wednesday morning saw the attack and pulled into the park. The man said his attacker came from behind him and knocked him to the ground. The attacker never spoke and he took nothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Forest Park Police Department 404-608-2388 or 404-366-4141. The information can be provided anonymously.
