Police in East Point are looking for a group of suspects who tried to carjack a man at a gas station and then shot at him several times, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The incident happened about 1 p.m. at a RaceTrac on Marketplace Boulevard across from Camp Creek Marketplace, the news station reported.
The man was pumping gas when the suspects approached him and demanded his keys. When he wouldn’t hand them over, at least one of the suspects shot at him, according to Channel 2.
At least two of the bullets hit the man’s vehicle, the news station reported. When the gunfire started, the man ran into the store. He was not hurt in the incident.
Police are still looking for the attempted carjackers, who are believed to be in a stolen SUV. The same SUV was also spotted more than once in College Park, Channel 2 reported.
