East Point police questioned 13 people Thursday in the investigation of a drive-by shooting that killed a 14-year-old boy earlier this week.
Anthony Harris, 14, died Monday in a breezeway at the Lakeshire Village apartments after a group in a black Chrysler 300 fired assault rifles at another man, said Capt. Cliff Chandler.
The men being questioned Thursday are associated with a house near College Park that the Chrysler had visited multiple times during a four-day period after it had been stolen in Clayton County, Chandler said.
Detectives were trying to determine whether those questioned were tied to the shooting or knew the shooters, Chandler said. “There are some things we are trying to hash out,” he said. “It is a very fluid situation.”
So far police suspect the car is tied to at least seven robberies and carjacking in Clayton, Douglas and Fulton counties. The Chrysler was carjacked July 16 in Clayton County. A bystander was shot by one of the gunmen, Chandler said.
