A bicyclist who was hit by a car will receive a settlement, his attorney said Wednesday.
The man, who asked his lawyer not to be named, was an active bicyclist in 2014 before an accident required extensive surgery to reconstruct his ankle, attorney Steven Leibel said in a news release.
The 50-year-old was touring the North Georgia mountains on a bike when a driver traveling on a Lumpkin County road attempted a left turn and struck him.
He settled for $292,500, Leibel said.
“With the increased popularity of cycling, especially in the north Georgia region, drivers and cyclists alike must be more vigilant to keep these tragedies for occurring,” Leibel said.
