A pickup truck rammed into a tractor-trailer parked on the west shoulder of I-85 Tuesday, leading to a fatal crash in Fulton County before Senoia Road, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Justin Linthicum, 27, of Fort Worth, Texas, was killed while driving a 2011 Toyota Tundra pickup south on I-85 when it left the road and crashed into a tractor-trailer parked on the west shoulder, the GSP told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an emailed statement. The Tundra was pinned underneath the trailer, driven by 61-year-old Marshall Davis, of Lithonia, who was not injured in the crash.
The accident resulted in traffic delays and the closure of three southbound lanes that lasted about two hours, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.
It was not clear late Tuesday morning why the truck left the roadway.
