A DeKalb County woman accused of causing fatal crashes in two counties was sentenced to 15 years in prison Tuesday in the first case.

Sabrina Patrice Townes, 33, pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in the 2012 crash that killed 47-year-old Lymeng Lim. Townes, who will get credit for time served, apologized in court to the families affected by the crashes, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“I pray for these families, as well as mine, every night,” Townes said. “I pray and ask God to give them strength that they need to make it through the day.”

After the 2012 wreck, arrest warrants were issued for Townes. But she wasn’t arrested until she allegedly caused another fatal wreck in Gwinnett County, records showed.

In May 2014, Townes was arrested in Lawrenceville after being involved in a seven-vehicle wreck on Ga. 316. A Lawrenceville woman, 29-year-old Pamela Leake, was killed and several others injured.

When Townes was arrested in Gwinnett, police determined she had active warrants in DeKalb.

Townes was indicted in the Gwinnett crash, but has not yet been to trial.
