DeKalb County police say fatal shooting started as drug deal

DeKalb County police said a fatal shooting that left four people critically wounded Wednesday afternoon started as a drug deal.

The shooting happened about 3:30 p.m. on Lancashire Drive, which is near Stone Mountain, DeKalb police spokeswoman Officer Sheryl Campbell said.

Two groups of people were involved in the shootout, police said.

Several suspects were in custody and the investigation was ongoing about 5 p.m.
