One day after two people were shot and killed in southeast Atlanta, someone opened fire on a home in the same neighborhood, police said.

About 2 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a shots fired call in the 200 block of Bromack Drive — just a few doors down from where 18-year-old Chloe Dowdy and 25-year-old Christopher Welch were killed less than 24 hours earlier.

Two bullet holes were found in a window, police spokeswoman Lisa Bender told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Authorities have not determined if the shootings are linked, but “investigators are looking into all possibilities,” she said.

No one was at the home at the time of Monday’s shooting, according to Bender.

That was not the case when officers responded to the same block about 7:20 a.m. Sunday and found Dowdy dead and Welch in critical condition.

Welch died after he was taken to a hospital, according to police.

The Medical Examiner’s office said Dowdy was from Atlanta, but did not know Welch’s last address.

“The initial investigation indicates the suspect and victims, who were acquaintances, were inside the location when an altercation occurred that resulted in gunfire,” Bender said. “The suspect fled the scene.”

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-8477, texting information to 274637 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000.
