Two metro Atlanta men are in custody in connection with a bank robbery in Conyers, police said in a Facebook post.

Miles Butler, 36, of Jonesboro, and Leonard Gibbs, 33, of Austell, were sought in connection with the robbery of the People’s Bank on Ga. 138 on Monday, according to police.

The FBI, which helped in the investigation, discovered that Gibbs had outstanding warrants for similar robberies in Lilburn and Gwinnett County, police said.

Gibbs was apprehended Friday after vehicle and foot chases, police said. Cobb police dogs found him under a back porch at a residence in Austell. He had two handguns and narcotics in his possession.

Butler surrendered without incident Thursday at his home, police said.

Clayton County and Cobb County police also helped in the investigation.

“The outcome of this investigation is a great example of professionalism in today’s law enforcement,” Conyers Police Chief Gene Wilson said.
