Evelyn Craft was found in a pool of her own blood in a bedroom at the Snellville home she shared with her daughter.
Jacquelyn Craft told police she found her mother, who had stabbed herself to death.
It was roughly 7:30 p.m. Monday and the two were supposed to watch “Jeopardy” together, Jacquelyn Craft told Gwinnett County police.
But police said in a statement Tuesday they weren’t called to the Leach Road home until about 11:30 p.m.
It’s not clear what happened in those four hours, but the night ended with Jacquelyn Craft in handcuffs. Police have not provided a motive for the killing nor what Craft allegedly used in the stabbing.

“We aren’t able to release any other information due to the investigation,” Gwinnett County police Cpl. Wilbert M. Rundles said in an emailed statement to AJC.com.
Jacquelyn Craft has been in the Gwinnett County jail without bond on murder charges since her Monday night arrest.
About 3 p.m. that day, Craft came home from an interview, spoke and eventually argued with her 65-year-old mother, according to a Gwinnett County police report obtained by The AJC.
Jacquelyn Craft told police she hadn’t spoken to her mother since that argument but became suspicious when Evelyn Craft was too quiet.
She said she kicked down her mother’s bedroom door, which Jacquelyn Craft claimed was locked, and found her mom dead, according to the police report. A 911 dispatcher told police Craft saw her mother for eight minutes before calling police.
Officers arrived to a bloody scene.
Evelyn Craft was on her back next to a small pair of scissors — which did not have blood on them — and a pillow soaked in blood, according to the police report. Blood was also on the bathroom counter. When police opened her shirt, they found injuries to her chest as blood seeped from it.
Police also noticed an abrasion on Evelyn Craft’s right shoulder and left forearm. Sprinkled marijuana was next to her and a broken dish was also on the floor, according to the report.
Jacquelyn Craft told police her mother had suffered suicidal thoughts in the past and had a history of depression and high blood pressure. Officers found prescriptions for Klor-Con, Bupropion, Lisinopril and Spironolactone on a table in Evelyn Craft’s room as well as an inhaler for Spiriva.
Police said an incident history of the home revealed a previous suicide threat from Evelyn Craft. The text of a May 6 call indicated Evelyn told her daughter: “Flip a coin ... either I kill myself or you kill yourself.”
