Cops: Teens caught stealing packages off Alpharetta porches
Two teenage Grinches were caught allegedly pilfering packages from the porches of several Alpharetta homes last week, police said.
According to an incident report, Kyle McGregor, 17, and Yonis Abdi, 18 — both members of the Milton High School varsity football team — were arrested Friday after residents in the Knightsbridge Way neighborhood saw them either take a package from a home or throw a box from their vehicle after the contents were emptied.
One resident followed the pair but lost the their vehicle in traffic. Alpharetta police, however, weren’t far behind.
Officers stopped the alleged porch pirates near Alpharetta’s courthouse and found “multiple items that had been taken from several different addresses” inside the car, the report said. Stolen items included Led Zeppelin records, power tools, clothes and household cleaners.
Both teens allegedly confessed and were charged with misdemeanor theft by taking.
