A 28-year-old man picked up a child half his age from her Cobb County middle school last month, but he isn’t related to her and did so without the knowledge of her parents and school staff, police said.

That allegation netted him two misdemeanors, but police said they found something more disturbing on the 14-year-old girl’s cellphone, leading to six felony charges.

Billy Jack Daniels Calhoun, 28, of Acworth, is in jail without bond after being accused of sexting the girl while pretending to be a 16-year-old boy, according to his arrest warrants.

Since October, the two had an “online relationship,” the warrants said. Police said Calhoun admitted to pretending to be a teenager named “Zachary,” who engaged in text conversations, phone calls and video chats with the girl.

On multiple occasions, he visited her school, Cooper Middle School, and her home while pretending to be “Zachary’s Uncle,” the warrants said.

That included when he picked up the child from school Feb. 24 without anyone’s knowledge or approval.

“While we can’t comment on the specifics of the situation, we can say that the student in question was picked up after school hours,” a school district spokesperson told AJC.com. “The safety of students is always our top priority.”

It’s not clear when he visited her home.

Investigators said they found five videos on the girl’s phone that showed a man, presumably Calhoun, masturbating. The videos had been sent through Snapchat by users named “Zackyyy” and “Zacky03Black.”

In addition, sexually explicit conversations were found between “Zachary” and the girl, the warrants said. Police said Calhoun told them he knew the victim was 14 when he sent the videos and sexually explicit messages.

He was arrested last Tuesday on six counts of sexual exploitation, according to Cobb jail records. He also faces charges of interference with custody and contributing to the delinquency of a child.
