Cops: Man said he ‘was coming back for’ girl he tried to kidnap in Troup Co.

A man allegedly attempted to kidnap a young girl in Troup County on Sunday, authorities said.
The child was crossing Reed Road when a man wearing what appeared to be a wig approached her while driving a small four-door white car, the Troup County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post.
He exited his car and allegedly attempted to grab her by the lower portion of her leg, the post said.
She was able to get away before falling on the ground and screaming, prompting her relatives to rush toward her, the post said. Before the suspect drove away, he allegedly told the young girl he was coming back for her.
He was later seen in the parking lot of a fire department on Reed Road, the post said.
The suspect is described as someone with “older looking skin,” according to the child. He also has no facial hair and long brown hair down to his ears, which is possibly a wig. The post said he might have been attempting to portray himself as a woman to the child.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Troup County Sheriff’s Office at 706-883-1616.
