Police thought they were dealing with a DUI suspect.

As it turned out, the woman also had left two children home alone, Channel 2 Action News reported.

It all began Friday night in Cobb County.

"She seemed to have slurred speech,” Kennesaw police officer Scott Luther said of Kellie Hutcheson. “Her eyes were glassy. She was unstable on her feet.”

Police said the 49-year-old caused a head-on crash that slightly injured three teenagers.

Investigators said she was drunk, and said she told them she had to get back to the kids — nieces, 4 and 2, who she had been babysitting at their home.

"She doesn't know where they are. She doesn't know where she's going, and apparently doesn't know how she got to where she was," Luther said.

Police eventually found the house and the children.

Hutcheson was charged with DUI, two counts of cruelty to children and failure to maintain lane, according to Cobb County jail records. She was released on bond.

Channel 2 reported that this was Hutcheson’s fourth drunk driving arrest in the past nine years.
