Amanda Nicole Silva made an amateur mistake when she was stuck inside a business police say she burglarized: she called the owner.

James Carter contacted the cops after he got a call from Silva, 26, saying she was inside his Covington business, Carter & Associates, according to a police report.

Officers arrived about 11:30 a.m. April 23 to find Silva trapped in the accounting firm after she crawled inside through an unlocked window missing a screen. Police did not say why Silva called the owner or why she was burglarizing the business.

Some items were missing from the top drawer of a desk, according to the report, but police did not specify what they were. No one else was inside during the burglary.

A plastic bag with methamphetamine, a clear pipe and a “small brown bottle with a liquid in it” were found in Silva’s cream-colored change purse.

Silva was taken to the Newton County jail, where she was booked on burglary and drug charges.
