In a triple homicide discovered this past weekend, a man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and her current boyfriend at a Cobb County apartment complex, then turned the gun on himself, police said Monday.

Responding Sunday to a 911 call around 2:30 p.m. to the Ivy Ridge apartments at Delk and Bentley roads, officers discovered the bodies of Pericles Demoura, Thelma Vinhal and Euclides Guinato-Bernardes, all of Marietta, Cobb County police spokesman Officer Mike Bowman said.

Evidence and witness statements from the crime scene indicate that Demoura shot Guinato-Bernardes, 30, and Vinhal, 35, Bowman said. Vinhal was Demoura’s ex-girlfriend. Guinato-Bernardes was Vinhal’s boyfriend.

Demoura, 45, turned the gun on himself and took his own life, Bowman said.

The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has the bodies and will determine the official manner and cause of death, Bowman said.

Anyone with information about the double murder-suicide is asked to call 770-499-3945.
