Three men were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly holding up a Walton County KFC at gunpoint.

Three men were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly storming into a Kentucky Fried Chicken wearing ski masks and robbing the restaurant at gunpoint, police said.

Monroe police responded to the KFC on West Spring Street just before 11 p.m. after getting a call about a robbery in progress, the department said Thursday in a news release.

“Upon arrival, officers were informed by several victims on scene that three male suspects armed and wearing masks entered the business and proceeded to demand money while brandishing their weapons,” police said. “A sum of cash was taken from the business and the suspects fled the area on foot.”

Five minutes after the call came in, officers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Midland and Marable streets for failing to maintain lane and having a cracked windshield, police said.

During the stop, officers received a description of the robbery suspects that matched the three men inside the car, authorities said. Police were able to link the suspects to the KFC hold-up and arrest all three on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault.

The suspects were identified as Demartray Eberhart, 20, Demiqueon Wyatt, 22, and Jaquan Smith, 21, all of Monroe.

All three men are being held without bond at the Walton County jail, records show. AJC.com has reached out to the sheriff’s office for the suspects’ mug shots.
