A woman died in DeKalb County during a house fire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

The fire happened at a home off Danrich Drive, DeKalb Fire Capt. Dion Bentley told AJC.com. Firefighters were called to the scene about 3 p.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but it began in a bedroom, Bentley confirmed. The woman was not able to get out of the room after the fire started, he said.

Her name and age were not provided.

Other family members who were in the home at the time were able to make it out without injuries.

No other information was released.
