A fight among family members ended in gunfire Thursday night in a southwest Atlanta neighborhood.

The shooting at a home on Polar Rock Road sent one man running to a home on nearby Lang Drive, according to Atlanta police. He was found sitting on the front porch with a gunshot wound to the shoulder when officers arrived about 10:30 p.m.

A man and a woman were found at the Polar Rock Road home, both shot in the chest, police spokeswoman Officer TaSheena Brown said.

All three were conscious when they were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The two homes are less than a quarter of a mile apart.

Officers determined there was a “physical altercation between family members” that led to the shooting, Brown said.

After more investigating, Nick Tanner, 37, was arrested Friday morning and accused of shooting Latasha Clifton and Jarronn Smith, according to Officer Anthony Grant. Tanner was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He will be booked when he is released from the hospital.
