A Henry County high school student was shot in the leg with a BB gun Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The incident happened at Woodland High School in Stockbridge, Henry County Schools spokesman John Hardin said.

One student pulled out a BB gun and shot another student before leaving the area, Hardin said.

School officials know the identity of the alleged shooter but have not released that information.

The student who was shot is in stable condition.
