Investigators learned that a man had walked into the store and pulled a gun on two employees.

A customer shot and killed an armed robber inside a DeKalb County dollar store Tuesday morning, police said.

DeKalb County police spokesman Sgt. J.D. Spencer said police responded to the shooting at the Family Dollar in the 7000 block of Covington Highway near Lithonia.

Investigators learned that a man had walked into the store and pulled a gun on two employees, Channel 2 Action News reported.

While an employee was handing over money, the customer shot the man, killing him. He was identified by police as 19-year-old Zaquan Charles.

Four or five customers were in the store at the time.

The shooter has not been identified. The case has been turned over to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s office, according to police.
