Two days after a 15-year-old was arrested and charged with murder, authorities charged a 19-year-old in the same deadly shooting.

Eliyahu Benyamin of Austell was taken into custody Wednesday after being tied to the shooting death of 21-year-old Reeves McSwain, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. His 15-year-old codefendant was arrested Monday, AJC.com previously reported.

The two are accused of setting up a gun sale with McSwain last Wednesday, the release said. The 15-year-old, whose name has not been released, allegedly shot McSwain during the sale and stole his money afterward.

The victim was in a vehicle during the shooting, and his body was later found in the 1800 block of Longdale Drive in unincorporated Decatur.

Benyamin is accused of “facilitating” the shooting death in addition to moving McSwain’s body after the slaying, the sheriff’s office said.

With the assistance of Cobb County police, DeKalb deputies were able to track down Benyamin to Mableton and arrest him on counts of murder and aggravated assault.

He was taken to the DeKalb County jail, where he remains without bond, according to jail records. The 15-year-old remains in a regional youth detention center.

It’s unclear whether additional suspects are sought in the investigation. No other information has been provided.
