A 15-year-old was charged with murder Monday after being tied to a deadly shooting and robbery last week in a DeKalb County neighborhood.
The teenager, whose name was not released, is accused of killing 21-year-old Reeves McSwain during the sale of a weapon last Wednesday, the DeKalb sheriff’s office said in a news release.
The victim was found in the 1800 block of Longdale Drive in unincorporated Decatur, AJC.com previously reported.

McSwain was inside a car when he was fatally shot, police said. The suspect was in the process of meeting the victim to sell him a weapon when the teen turned on McSwain, shot him and stole his cash, the sheriff’s office said.
DeKalb police previously said “an unknown number of suspects” participated in the incident by removing McSwain’s body from the car and leaving it at the scene. The group drove off in his car.
The suspect was booked into the DeKalb County jail, but he is being housed at a regional youth detention center, the sheriff’s office said. No other information on the investigation was provided.
