A girl was hit by a vehicle in Clayton County on Thursday, police told AJC.com.

The child was struck in the area of Ga. 138 and Stockbridge Road, Clayton County police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital, Marbury said. The person driving the vehicle stayed on the scene.

Terrence Darnell Lee chose his victims while sitting in a car, police said. A Gwinnett detective testified he did so at least 3 times at the Centerville Highway QuikTrip. One of those victims, 27-year-old Kemar Hawkins, died after Lee allegedly shot him. Lee is charged with 46 different criminal counts in Gwinnett County, including felony murder.
