Officials are investigating a murder-suicide in Cherokee County at a home on Clay Wade Drive, Cherokee sheriff’s Sgt. Marriane Kelley said.

A man and woman were found inside the home during a welfare check about 8:30 a.m.

Authorities are not releasing the identities of the victims until family is notified, Kelley said.

A gun was used in the murder, Kelley said, but police have not released who pulled the trigger.

A neighbor told Channel 2 Action News he last saw the man and woman walking their dog Thursday night, but there didn’t seem to be any issues.

Kelley told the news station there had been no history of domestic violence. The woman had moved to the area a year ago, Channel 2 reported.
