Boyfriend allegedly asked victim’s kin to help dispose of her body

A North Georgia man charged with killing his girlfriend asked her relatives to help him dispose of her body, according to a media report.

Instead, they refused and called authorities Sunday evening, the Chattanooga Times-Free Press reported.

As a result, David Ryan Walker, 29, has been charged with murder and is being held at the Walker County Jail, according to the report.

Authorities think the slaying took place inside the couple’s house and that Walker wrapped the body of Candace Ann Hankins, 29, in a blanket and took it into nearby woods, Sheriff Steve Wilson said.

Walker County is about 105 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
