A suspected voyeur was jailed after an employee discovered he had been recording video in a bathroom, police said Monday.
Investigators said Brian Hale admitted to filming employees without their consent at Cash America Pawn in Tukwila.
The investigation was prompted when employee Joelicia Perry found Hale's phone.
"Everybody is just in shock right now,” said Perry, who said the phone was hidden in the store's bathroom, partially obscured by a garbage can.
Perry said she looked at the video on the phone and was shocked.
"It shows my co-workers using the restroom, their pants fully down,” Perry added.
Perry said she hasn't been able to sleep since Saturday, when she found the videos on the phone.
"That's something really traumatizing to people, to know it's somebody so close and not expect that,” said Perry. “And who knows what he's been doing with them, who knows how long it's been going on?”
In court Monday, Hale waived his first appearance on a charge of voyeurism.
"This was a pretty egregious violation of privacy,” a prosecuting attorney told the judge.
In a court document obtained by KIRO-TV, police said Hale "admitted to placing the phone in the bathroom to record employees."
The court agreed to release Hale to the home he lives at with his parents -- on the condition Hale not contact the victims filmed in the store.
